The program aimed to enhance faculty competencies in the key areas of teaching & learning, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, in line with the university’s commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance. The FDP commenced with a session on teaching & learning, chaired by Dr. Patrick Praveen. The resource person, Dr. T. Soundara Pandian, Associate Professor, Modern Institute of Teacher Education, Kohima, delivered an inspiring talk titled “Leading with Passion: Igniting the Teacher Within.” He emphasized reflective teaching, learner-centric pedagogy, the constructivist approach, and the use of the ADDIE instructional design framework. The session encouraged faculty members to build meaningful teacher-student relationships and adopt dynamic, student-centred teaching practices. The second day focused on Artificial Intelligence, chaired by Dr. Tiatula Ozukum. Dr. Arambam Neelima, Assistant Professor, NIT Nagaland, delivered a comprehensive session on “Introduction to AI Tools for Teaching and Research: Using Generative AI and Learning Analytics.” She introduced various AI tools relevant to academic settings, discussed ethical considerations, and demonstrated how AI can support teaching and research while reinforcing the irreplaceable role of educators.
